 There are endless possibilities of things to see and do in the area in every season.  Whether on a family retreat, a couples getaway, an outdoor adventure or just out to explore what the area has to offer, you are truly in the heart of it all when your stay is hosted by a BVA member.

Every BVA member has a unique perspective of the area to share with you but all of them will agree that the Beaver Valley has an abundance of attractions and sites for all types of interests.  Talk to your host and find out what their favourite things are.

  Winter Fun

Cross Country Skiing is at it's peak with over 45 managed forests, many with maintained winter trails.

The Beaver Valley has some of the best conditions and scenery for a great day of snowshoeing.

Downhill skiing can be enjoyed at Blue Mountain, which is a short drive from the Beaver Valley area.

Plan a day of dog sleddding, a great way to experience a beautiful winter day.

Snowmobile trails surround the area, with routes that will last as long as you can.

 Family Fun

Enjoy the sunshine and a splash at the area beaches at Lake Eugenia, Durham, Meaford and Thornbury.

Take the family horseback trail riding in Flesherton or the Blue Mountains area for the afternoon.

Visit the orchard and in season pick your own apples throughout the area.

 Experience the rodeo in Markdale and Thornbury in the summer months for an exciting day trip.

Take part inthe many seasonal fairs and festivals in the surrounding towns, including the scarecrow festival.

 Two Wheeled Adventures

Cruise along the winding roads of the valley and enjoy the scenery on a motorcycle tour.

Plan a muddy adventure on the areas ATV trails, including a run on the old train track line.

Enjoy scenic cycling routes for all level of rider that include many great look out spots and rest areas.

 Rock climbing and caving is great in this part of the Niagara Escarpment with guided tours available.

Hit the trails with two wheels and plan a mountain biking adventure on the many trails available.

Winter is no time to stay indoors!

There is no reason to hibernate this winter, especially if you plan a visit to the Beaver Valley area. 

Your chosen BVA host can tell you all about the things there are to do that will get you outside and enjoying the winter weather.

Just because there is snow on the ground it doesn't mean you can't plan a day of horseback riding or enjoy a horse pulled sleigh ride. 

Visit the local arena and go for a family skate or enjoy a local hockey game. 

Don't forget that tobogganing is still a great way to get out and enjoy the snow and it is an ageless acitivity.

Outdoor Adventure

Follow the waterfall tour map to enjoy the naturally carved landscape with Eugenia and Hoggs Falls close by.

The Bruce Trail surrounds the area and offers many levels of hiking for all to enjoy.

Plan a canoe or kayak route to enjoy a paddling adventure on the Beaver River or at Lake Eugenia.

 Take a swing at a nearby golf course including Highland Glen and the Markdale Country Club.

A great place to cast a fishing line, whether lake fishing, fly fishing or on a guided fishing tour. 

 Arts & Culture

Enjoy the many area artisans who have opened thier studios by following the art map or the anuual Studio Leaves tour.

Explore the past with a trip to the museum to learn about the pioneer settlers and their brave contribution to the war effort.

The annual art and craft shows bring it all to one place such as the Apple Harvest Craft Show in Meaford.

 Be entertained and enjoy the offerings of Meaford Hall, including the annual Meaford Film Festival.
